Summer String Camp
June 2-5, 2025
This camp will give musicians an opportunity to enrich their lives by providing an immersive musical experience. It will allow young musicians to build community through musical interactions in a fun, exciting, and encouraging environment.

The Camp
Spend 4 days engaging in an immersive orchestral strings experience. Learn new skills and become a more well-rounded musician in a fun and encouraging environment. Hurry — Space will be limited.
When: June 2-5, 2025
Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Thursday
Students provide their own lunches, but snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the camp day.
Concert: Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 6:00pm
Where: King High School – 6815 North 56th St, Tampa, FL, 33610
Tuition:
Please note, all tuition rates reflect the total amount, inclusive of the $50 deposit after registration.
Student enrollment: $325 ($50 Deposit Due at Registration)
Households with multiple children or siblings: Each additional sibling after the first enrolled student: $275.

Video Audition:
Students who were not enrolled in the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra for the 2024-2025 season will be required to submit a short audition video that best represents their performance capabilities. This does not need to be a formal video, but please consider that this video will be used for orchestra placement for the camp. Submissions must be made via email to camp@tmyo.org as an unlisted YouTube video link. For details on uploading your audition video- please click here!
Audition Requirements:
(1) Major Scale (student may choose number of octaves)
(1) Solo Piece (students may choose what best showcases their level of playing)

In addition to a summer orchestra session, this camp will offer several elective courses, including but not limited to sectionals, local area professionals, and TMYO coaches.
Improv Orchestra– Learn how to play and create arrangements by ear using only lyrics and a bass line. Bring those new skills together as a team.
Conducting- Learn the basics of conducting and discover a deeper understanding of leading an ensemble
